Terms of Service

By creating an account on SaltedSpace or accessing any part of the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TECHJAM LABS Limited ("SaltedSpace", "we", "us"). We may update these Terms periodically — see Section 18 for details.

You must be at least 13 years old to use SaltedSpace. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the platform.

By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date. You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their consent, or operate more than one personal account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Do not share your password. Notify us immediately at legal@saltedspace.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, impersonate others, or appear to be created for abuse.

SaltedSpace is a faith community for Christian believers and seekers from around the world. We expect all members to engage with honesty, grace, and respect. The following conduct is prohibited:

Harmful content

• Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, or any other protected characteristic
• Content that sexualises or endangers children in any way
• Sexually explicit content (nudity, pornography)
• Graphic violence or content designed to disturb or distress
• Threats, harassment, or intimidation of any individual or group

Deceptive behaviour

• Impersonating a person, church, organisation, or public figure
• Spreading knowingly false information (misinformation) or doctored media
• Creating fake engagement (purchasing reactions, followers, or prayer responses)
• Operating automated accounts without prior permission from SaltedSpace

Spam and exploitation

• Repetitive, unsolicited commercial messages
• Pyramid schemes, fraudulent fundraising, or financial scams
• Unauthorised data scraping or bulk harvesting of user data

Doxxing and privacy

• Publishing private contact information of another person without their consent
• Recording or sharing private communications without consent

We recognise that faith communities include people in doubt, crisis, or spiritual struggle. Questions, doubts, and grief are welcome. Content that expresses honest spiritual struggle will receive a compassionate response from our Guide Bot — it will never be silently removed.

You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting content on SaltedSpace, you grant TECHJAM LABS Limited a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, distribute, and reproduce that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the SaltedSpace platform.

This licence ends when you delete your content or your account, except where your content has been shared with others (e.g., reactions, reshares) and removing it from those contexts would be technically impractical.

You confirm that you own or have the rights to all content you post, and that posting it does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of a third party.

All content posted to SaltedSpace passes through an AI-assisted moderation system before it is visible to other users. The five possible moderation outcomes are:

• Approve: Content is clean and published normally.
• Warn: Content is borderline. It is published but the author receives a gentle notification.
• Blur: Content contains sensitive material. It is displayed with a blur overlay and a "Reveal" option for users who choose to view it.
• Guide: Content suggests the author may be in spiritual distress. Our Guide Bot leaves a compassionate, Scripture-grounded comment. The post is not removed.
• Reject: Content violates these Terms and is not published (e.g., CSAM, targeted hate speech, spam).

If you believe a moderation decision was incorrect, you may appeal by contacting legal@saltedspace.com.

The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and possible account suspension or permanent ban:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — reported to NCMEC and relevant authorities without exception
• Content designed to incite violence against a specific person or group
• Targeted hate speech (see Section 4)
• Doxxing: publishing another person's private home address, phone number, or other identifying information without consent
• Impersonation of real individuals, churches, or organisations
• Malware, phishing links, or deceptive redirects

The SaltedSpace platform, brand, design system (Sacred Iris), trade dress, and all original software are owned by TECHJAM LABS Limited and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any SaltedSpace-owned material without express written permission.

The name "SaltedSpace", the hourglass logo, and "Sacred Iris" are trademarks of TECHJAM LABS Limited.

SaltedSpace may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those services. Accessing third-party services is at your own risk.

SaltedSpace is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Content posted by users does not represent the views of TECHJAM LABS Limited. Scripture references and devotional content on the platform are provided for spiritual encouragement and do not constitute professional pastoral, medical, or legal advice.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TECHJAM LABS Limited and its officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to SaltedSpace in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain types of damage. If those laws apply to you, some limitations above may not apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. For users located in the European Economic Area, nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under applicable EU consumer protection law.

For users in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, or any other jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection provisions, those provisions apply alongside these Terms to the extent required by local law.

We encourage you to contact us first at legal@saltedspace.com — most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act of Nigeria, unless you are located in a jurisdiction where mandatory court proceedings apply.

Class action waivers may not be enforceable in all jurisdictions. Where your local law gives you the right to bring a class action, this clause does not waive that right.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon deletion, your personal data is erased within 30 days (subject to retention requirements in our Privacy Policy).

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraud or abuse, or for any other reason with reasonable notice except where immediate action is required for platform safety. We will endeavour to provide notice and the opportunity to appeal.

SaltedSpace offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through our payment processor (Stripe). You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds are not provided for partial subscription periods except where required by applicable consumer law. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge at legal@saltedspace.com.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TECHJAM LABS Limited and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable under applicable law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or a prominent notice within the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

Your continued use of SaltedSpace after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those terms.
